Gas prices in Michigan hit $3.15 per gallon, up 12 cents this week, amid rising crude costs.

Gas prices in Michigan rose by 12 cents to an average of $3.15 per gallon this week, up 8 cents from last month and 11 cents from last year. In Metro Detroit, prices are $3.18 per gallon. A full 15-gallon tank now costs $47, $10 less than last year's peak. Despite a slight drop in gasoline demand, domestic stocks and production have increased, while crude oil inventories have decreased, leading AAA to warn that rising crude oil prices could further increase gas costs.
