Australian aluminum plant workers strike for higher wages to cope with rising living costs.
Almost 600 Tomago Aluminium workers in Australia have started a rolling two-hour strike, demanding a 15% pay rise over three years to combat rising living costs. The company offered a 10% increase, which it claims is above the expected inflation rate and takes into account rising energy costs and decarbonization efforts. The Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, is scheduled to visit the plant.
