Police in Rock Island and Moline are addressing an increase in juvenile criminal activities after two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, were arrested following a high-speed chase in stolen vehicles. The chase ended in a Wyndham Hotel parking lot after both cars crashed. Five other juveniles, aged 14, 12, and 11, were released to their parents. Police chiefs criticized the current "catch-and-release" system, highlighting the threat to public safety posed by such incidents.
