NYC tops the list of congested US cities, followed by San Francisco, Honolulu, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Drivers in the US lost an average of 43 hours to traffic in 2024, up one hour from 2023 but down eight hours from 2022. New York City and Chicago ranked among the five most congested urban areas globally, losing 102 hours each to traffic.
