A Dhaka tribunal has granted bail to approximately 200 individuals who were previously acquitted in the 2009 BDR mutiny case, where 74 people, including 57 army officers, died. The bail was granted to those not facing pending appeals. The case initially saw the death penalty for 139 and life sentences for 185 in 2017. The tribunal is now hearing prosecution witnesses at a makeshift courtroom inside Dhaka Central Jail.
