Dhaka court orders seizure of tax records from ex-minister and official's wife over alleged illicit wealth.

A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of tax records from former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and Seema Hamid, wife of a former state minister for power. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed petitions accusing Nowfel of acquiring illicit wealth and suspicious transactions totaling nearly $1.3 million through 41 bank accounts. Seema Hamid is accused of similar activities involving around $130,000 through 20 bank accounts. The court's decision aims to aid the ACC's investigation into these alleged financial irregularities.
