Detroit Lions name Teddy Bridgewater as backup QB for playoff game, replacing Hendon Hooker.

The Detroit Lions have named Teddy Bridgewater as the backup quarterback for their playoff game against the Washington Commanders, replacing Hendon Hooker. Bridgewater, 32, comes out of retirement with substantial NFL experience, having played for multiple teams and starting 65 regular-season games. The Lions also ruled out right guard Kevin Zeitler due to injury, and elevated defensive players from the practice squad.
