ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India launches advanced steel lines for automotive use, boosting local production.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India is set to launch two advanced steel production lines at its Gujarat plant this year, aimed at producing high-end automotive steel. The Continuous Galvanising Line (CGL) and Continuous Galvanising and Annealing Line (CGAL) will be fully operational by 2025, capable of producing steel up to 1180 MPa in coated and uncoated forms. This move is part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative to reduce imports and meet the growing demand for high-quality automotive steel in India. The current demand is 7.8 million tonnes annually, with a projected annual growth of 6-7%.
