San Francisco angler catches potential world record 250kg Pacific bluefin tuna in New Zealand.
Joey Manin, a San Francisco resident and beginner angler, caught a potential world record Pacific bluefin tuna weighing around 250kg on his third fishing trip near Great Barrier Island.
The current record is 197.5kg.
Due to the holiday, the fish wasn’t officially weighed.
Manin shared the catch with locals and family instead of selling it, as selling without a commercial license is not allowed in New Zealand.
