Renowned Canadian animator Robert Verrall, who pioneered at the NFB, has died at 97.

Robert Verrall, a 97-year-old Canadian animator and pioneer at the National Film Board (NFB), has passed away in Montreal. Hired by renowned animator Norman McLaren in 1945, Verrall spent over 40 years at the NFB, directing or producing more than 50 films and earning multiple Oscar nominations. He established Studio D, a renowned women's filmmaking unit, and his son, David, also worked at the NFB.
