Iowa's private school enrollment surged 8.7%, driven by a new state financial aid program.

Iowa's private school enrollment rose by 8.7% this school year, while public school enrollment fell by 0.63%. The increase in private school enrollment is partly due to a new state program providing financial aid for private school tuition. The Education Savings Account (ESA) program saw a significant rise, with 27,866 students using it this year, up from 16,757 last year. Additionally, over 43,000 public school students enrolled in schools outside their home districts.
