India's first undersea rail tunnel in Mumbai is progressing, set to connect cities at high speeds.
India’s first undersea rail tunnel, part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, is progressing well, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The 21-kilometer tunnel, including a 7-kilometer stretch under Thane Creek, will connect Mumbai to Shilphata and allow trains to travel at up to 250 km/h.
The project spans 508 kilometers with 12 stations and is valued at Rs 1.08 lakh crore, utilizing advanced Japanese railway technology.
