Cochise County recorder David Stevens resigns, citing family and health issues, amid election pressure.
David Stevens, Cochise County recorder in Arizona, will resign at the end of February, citing family and health reasons. Stevens, who was just sworn in for a third term, had faced pressure from county supervisors Tom Crosby and Peggy Judd to hand-count ballots in 2022, following election conspiracy theories. Crosby and Judd were charged for delaying election certification; Judd pleaded guilty, while Crosby awaits trial.
