David Williams, 67, who defrauded about 1,200 people by posing as a barrister and insolvency practitioner from 2019 to 2020, failed to attend his sentencing, leading a judge to issue a bench warrant. Williams pleaded guilty to deception and unauthorized legal services. His former partner, Crystal Talia, received a 12-month suspended sentence for aiding the fraud by allowing him to use her bank accounts. Williams operated fake firms THL Legal and Moore, Barrington, and Walters.
