US import prices rose 0.1% in December, the third straight monthly increase, with the annual rate climbing to 2.2%. Export prices also saw a 0.3% rise, increasing the annual rate to 1.8%. Fuel import prices jumped 1.4%, while food prices rose by 2.8%. Despite these increases, the Federal Reserve is expected to focus on long-term inflation trends, considering these price rises to be temporary.
