Leo Schweizer, a Rotorua student at Otago University studying commerce and law, topped the New Zealand Army Reserve Force's six-week training course, becoming its top recruit among 83 soldiers. Schweizer enlisted to gain unique skills and contribute to his community during university holidays. Training includes tactical movement, teamwork, and live exercises, with monthly company-level and weekly platoon-level sessions. Schweizer is set to join 2/4 Battalion and encourages others to join for the valuable skills and community service.
