In Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, 12 Naxalites were killed during a gunfight with security forces on Thursday, raising the January toll to 26. The operation, involving District Reserve Guard, CoBRA, and CRPF forces, occurred in a forest and lasted from morning to evening. Earlier, two paramilitary troopers were injured by an IED explosion planted by Naxalites in the same district. The government aims to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026.
