India approves a new space launch pad to support future crewed missions and a space station.

The Indian government has approved the construction of a third launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, costing Rs 3,984.86 crore. Scheduled for completion in 48 months, the project aims to boost India's launch capacity for future human spaceflight missions, including crewed moon missions by 2040 and a space station by 2035. The new launch pad will support the Next Generation Launch Vehicles and serve as a backup for existing launch facilities, enhancing the frequency and reliability of space launches.
