Historic Belfast Assembly Rooms added to "at risk" list by World Monuments Fund.
The historic Assembly Rooms in Belfast, built in 1769, has been added to the World Monuments Fund's 2025 "at risk" list. Vacant for about 20 years, the building has hosted significant events like the Belfast Harp Festival in 1792 and a meeting that prevented the establishment of a slave trading company in 1786. Campaigners hope the recognition will boost efforts to preserve and restore the site.
