Simon Townsend, the creator and host of the popular children's TV show "Wonder World," has passed away at 79 after battling cancer. The show, which aired from 1979 to 1987, won five Logies for Most Popular Children's Television series. Townsend, who started as a journalist, served two months in prison for refusing conscription to the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife Rosanna, their two children, and his first daughter, Lisbeth, whom he was reunited with in 1991.
