Roman settlement found near Ermin Street during A417 road development in Gloucestershire.
The A417 Missing Link road development in Gloucestershire has uncovered a 2,000-year-old Roman settlement near Ermin Street, a major Roman road.
Excavations by Oxford Cotswold Archaeology and others revealed Roman structures, wells, ovens, and agricultural features, along with 460 Roman coins, 15 brooches, 420kg of pottery, and animal bones.
The findings will air on BBC Two's "Digging for Britain" on January 15 and will later be displayed in local museums.
