New Zealand's government has significantly boosted access to medicines, funding more new drugs in the first half of the current financial year than the entire previous year. Pharmac, the country's drug-buying agency, received a record $6.294 billion budget over four years, plus a $604 million uplift. This funding has also increased medical devices for hospitals and sped up patient-specific treatment approvals.
