Indian Army chief defends locally-made Dhruv helicopter amid safety concerns and recent crash.

The Indian Army chief, Gen Upendra Dwivedi, has defended the locally-made Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) despite a recent crash in Gujarat that has grounded the fleet. Safety concerns have risen due to about 15 accidents over the last five years. Dwivedi expressed confidence in the helicopter, noting that aviation accidents are inevitable. The ALH and its armed variant, Rudra, will not participate in the Republic Day parade due to ongoing investigations into the crash.
