Human remains found by duck hunters in Taylorsville are being investigated by authorities.

Human remains were found on January 13 around 5:50 p.m. by duck hunters in a wooded area near Highway 16 North in Taylorsville, Alexander County. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff's office in processing the scene, and the identity of the remains is currently unknown. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances of the death, with help from an anthropologist and the medical examiner.
