Greek PM Mitsotakis nominates Tassoulas for presidency; vote expected in January.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has nominated Constantine Tassoulas, the current parliament speaker and a member of his New Democracy party, as the next president. Tassoulas, a lawyer with experience in ministerial roles, could be elected in a parliamentary vote by mid-February. Greece's president is elected by 300 lawmakers, with the New Democracy party holding 156 seats. The first round of voting is set for January 25.
