Fire in southern Peru kills five, including three children, and leaves over 100 homeless.

Five people, including three children, were killed and over 100 were left homeless after a fire broke out in a settlement in southern Peru on Monday night. The fire in the Carlos Portocarrero Dongo settlement started around 11:00 p.m. and was caused by a short circuit in a prefabricated house, which led to the explosion of domestic gas tanks. At least 10 homes were damaged, and the fire was contained by early Tuesday morning.
