Two new operas at the Kennedy Center explore the experiences of Black women through diverse narratives.

Two new operas, "The Seer" and "Future of Dreams," commissioned by the Kennedy Center and Washington National Opera, focus on the Black female experience. "The Seer," by composer Levi Taylor, follows a young Black office worker in Detroit, while "Future of Dreams," by Jaylin Vinson, features two Black women running for mayor in Houston in 2064. These operas aim to diversify the genre and highlight the stories of Black women.
