Orange and Vodacom team up to expand mobile services in Congo, targeting 19 million people.

Orange and Vodacom have formed a joint venture to expand 2G and 4G services in the Democratic Republic of Congo, aiming to connect approximately 19 million people. The project plans to deploy 1,000 solar-powered mobile base stations initially, with the goal of adding another 1,000 over six years. The venture, subject to regulatory approval, will also offer infrastructure access to other mobile operators to enhance connectivity.
