Indian Supreme Court exonerates taxi driver jailed seven years for transporting 20kg of marijuana.

The Supreme Court of India has cleared a taxi driver who served seven years in prison under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for carrying 20kg of ganja. The court ruled there was no evidence linking him to the drugs and found it unreasonable to expect drivers to know passenger details. The driver’s conviction by lower courts was overturned.
