Amazon initiates foot deliveries in London and orders massive electric trucks to cut emissions.
Amazon is launching a new trial for on-foot deliveries in London, using trolleys that can be restocked on the go, alongside the UK's largest-ever order of electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions and move towards net-zero emissions by 2040. Amazon plans to transport over 300 million packages a year with zero exhaust emissions using the new electric trucks. The company is also expanding the use of electric rail networks for package delivery.
