Odisha offers pension, free medical care to those jailed during India's 1975-1977 Emergency.
The Odisha government has announced a monthly pension of ₹20,000 and free medical treatment for individuals imprisoned during India's Emergency period from June 1975 to March 1977.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made the announcement, which will benefit those still alive as of January 1, 2025, and take effect from that date.
No benefits will be provided for any period before this date.
