The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), under interim leader Thomas Gonkewon, aims to improve electricity reliability by ensuring no community faces power outages longer than eight hours. Plans include a new load management strategy, negotiating a 50MW energy supply with Côte d'Ivoire, and expanding renewable energy sources like a 20MW solar plant and a hydropower plant. LEC also seeks to make tariffs fairer and ensure government agencies prepay for electricity.
