Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Ghana's Finance Minister-designate, has promised to scrap the betting tax and E-Levy as part of his strategy to boost government revenue through improved tax compliance and efficient collection systems, rather than introducing new taxes. He also clarified that seeking additional funding from the IMF is not the immediate plan. Forson aims to increase tax revenue to 18% of GDP without new taxes.
