German-Iranian rights activist Nahid Taghavi released after over four years in Iranian prison.

German-Iranian activist Nahid Taghavi has been released from an Iranian prison and returned to Germany after over four years of incarceration. Taghavi, a women's rights advocate, was sentenced to 10 years and eight months for alleged involvement in an "illegal group" and propaganda against the state. Amnesty International called the charges fabricated and reported that Taghavi was tortured and held in solitary confinement. Her release follows pressure from rights groups and concerns over her health.
