Two Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students were fined a total of ₹1.79 lakh for violating hostel rules, including allowing outsiders, drinking alcohol, and using a hookah. The students must pay within five days or face eviction. Former Sutlej Hostel President Kunal Kumar criticized the fines, claiming they were an act of extortion aimed at those not supporting the ABVP. The hostel warden has not commented.
