Telecom tests in India show Reliance Jio leads in data speeds but lags in call setup success rates.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released results from tests conducted in four cities—New Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmednagar, and Hyderabad—to evaluate telecom service quality. Major providers, including Bharti Airtel, BSNL/MTNL, Reliance Jio (RJIL), and Vodafone Idea, were assessed on call setup success rates, data speeds, and other metrics. RJIL generally led in data speeds, with average download speeds ranging from 164.19 Mbps to 356.68 Mbps across the cities. However, RJIL's call setup success rates were lower than some competitors, especially in New Delhi, where it was 94%, compared to above 97% for others. Airtel had the highest call setup success rate in Ahmednagar at 100%.
