Real estate tycoon Erden Arkan pleads guilty to funneling illegal campaign funds to NYC Mayor Eric Adams.
Brooklyn real estate tycoon Erden Arkan has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to funnel illegal campaign contributions to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, reimbursing employees for their donations to the mayor's campaign. Arkan admitted to working with a Turkish government official to make the illegal contributions, which were then used to fraudulently obtain public matching funds. Adams, who has pleaded not guilty to bribery and fraud charges, is scheduled to stand trial in April. Arkan's sentencing is set for August.
