Canadian border officials seized over 6 kg of suspected opium and heroin at the Blue Water Bridge.

On December 30, Canadian border officials seized 6.27 kg of suspected opium and 30 g of suspected heroin at the Blue Water Bridge near Sarnia. A person was arrested, and the items were handed to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. This follows the seizure of 4,083 kg of narcotics in Southern Ontario between January and October, including 460 kg of suspected cocaine at the same bridge in June.
