Lara Brown, 56, has been sentenced to six months to two years in jail and ordered to pay restitution after being convicted of stealing over $50,000 from the United Band Boosters in Pennsylvania. Brown, who served as the group's treasurer, used the stolen funds for personal purchases and gambling from 2019 to 2022. The theft led to the cancellation of a planned band trip. She must also complete a mental health evaluation and serve three years of probation.
