A school lockdown in Canada was triggered by a mistaken report of a firearm; it was actually students filming a project.

On Thursday, a false alarm of a man with a firearm in a nearby park led to a brief lockdown at Cowichan Secondary and Qu'wutsun Secondary schools in Canada. It was later revealed that Cowichan Secondary students were filming a project using a wooden stick that mimicked a gun. The RCMP confirmed the situation and lifted the lockdown.
