Pakistan saw a 32.8% increase in remittances from overseas workers in the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25, totaling $17.8 billion. December alone saw $3.1 billion, a 29.3% increase from the same month last year. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attributed the growth to the commitment of overseas Pakistanis and noted Pakistan's move towards economic growth after achieving stability. Main sources of remittances include Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, and the US. Experts predict remittances could hit a record $35 billion in the current fiscal year.
