Alec Baldwin sues New Mexico prosecutors, alleging misuse of evidence and civil rights violations post-fatal "Rust" set shooting.

Actor Alec Baldwin has filed a lawsuit against New Mexico prosecutors and investigators, accusing them of malicious prosecution and civil rights violations following the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film "Rust." Baldwin claims that evidence was mishandled and intentionally concealed, and that prosecutors sought to scapegoat him for political or personal gain. The lawsuit names Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, special prosecutor Kari Morrissey, and others as defendants. It comes after a judge dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin in July due to misconduct in evidence handling.
