Dayton Metro Library enacts strict "Quiet Space" rules due to violent incidents, limiting gatherings and access.
The Dayton Metro Library has introduced new "Quiet Space" policies at its Main Library to address recent violent incidents.
Starting immediately, between 2-6 pm on weekdays, groups of two or more are banned from gathering, and food and drink are not allowed in public areas.
Video games and group activities in the Teen Edge area are also prohibited.
From 2 pm onward, only 10 additional visitors will be admitted every half hour, except for those attending events or using specific services.
Violators face immediate expulsion.
These changes follow a brawl on December 18 that prompted a temporary closure.
