Cadillac aims to join Formula One by 2026 with GM developing its own engine by 2029.

General Motors (GM) is establishing an engine company, GM Performance Power Units, to develop a Cadillac Formula One racing team, aiming to become a full works team by the end of the decade. Cadillac plans to enter F1 in 2026 as the 11th team, initially using Ferrari engines until GM’s own power unit is ready by 2029. The company is already testing new prototype engine technology for the next generation of F1 cars.
