Sons of jailed Mexican drug lord "El Chapo" are in plea talks with U.S. over drug charges.

Two sons of the notorious Mexican drug lord "El Chapo," Ovidio Guzmán López and Joaquín Guzmán López, are reportedly in plea negotiations with U.S. federal authorities regarding drug-trafficking charges. Both brothers, who lead a faction of the Sinaloa cartel known as the "Chapitos," have pleaded not guilty. Their negotiations come after the 2021 arrests of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada and Joaquín Guzmán López, and the FBI alleges that they oversaw the trafficking of "tens of thousands of pounds of drugs into the US, along with related violence."
