On Tuesday, a fire broke out in a two-story vacant commercial building at 1224 S. Hope St. near Pico Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles.
Firefighters responded quickly and contained the blaze within the building, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
The fire was reported at 6:11 a.m. and was under control by 7:32 a.m. Hope Street was closed in both directions at the fire scene, and authorities advised commuters to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
