Teen with rare blindness condition to raise awareness at science exhibition.
Caitlin Mynes, a 13-year-old from Ireland diagnosed with the rare eye condition Stargardt disease, and her sister Caoimhe will attend a national science exhibition to raise awareness. Stargardt disease affects about 500 people in Ireland, causing vision loss that can lead to an inability to recognize faces or drive. Despite her diagnosis, Caitlin remains active in sports with the help of assistive technology and hopes to educate the public about the condition.
