Singapore plans stricter controls on certain knives and enhanced police training after 129 knife crimes in 2024.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Sun Xueling reported that Singapore had 129 knife-related crimes in 2024, consistent with the past three years' average of 133 cases annually. In response to recent concerns, including a November stabbing at a church, she announced plans to regulate flick knives and knuckledusters in 2025. Police will also enhance training and patrols to handle potential threats.
