Nigeria's tomato industry seeks government help to reduce post-harvest losses and boost growth.

Nigeria's tomato industry is facing significant post-harvest losses, prompting the National Tomato Growers, Processors, and Marketers Association (NATPAN) to call for government intervention. The association's Kaduna state chairman, Mr. Rabiu Zuntu, emphasized the need for government support to provide farmers with necessary equipment like plastic crates and solar dryers to reduce these losses and boost the sector's growth. NATPAN is also working with NGOs to introduce cost-effective solutions for smallholder farmers.
