Irish authorities identified remains as missing man Tomas Martinkus, closing a six-year case.

The Gardaí have identified the skeletal remains of Tomas Martinkus, a 29-year-old Lithuanian man who went missing from Strokestown, Ireland, in December 2018. The remains were found on local farmland in late 2024, and forensic analysis confirmed they belonged to Martinkus. After six years of searching, the missing persons appeal has been closed with no suspicion of foul play.
